Make Painfully Great Memories with Your Friends in Party Animals. Mess With Your Friend in 100 Different Ways I think Party Animals is an immensely fun game, I really enjoy playing it, especially with friends in custom games. Custom games have support for bots (with three difficulty levels), making games with even 2-3 human players fun and chaotic. There’s a lot of variety through maps and the newly introduced Smash and Mario Kart-esque Nemo Kart game modes. The game supports local split-screen play, albeit it’s a bit limited, see below. While there are micro-transactions, they are cosmetic-only, and the game allows you to earn some of its premium currency, too, through level ups and achievements, which I think is a very nice addition – I have been able to buy skins that cost premium currency only by playing the game. The game is still online-only, for which it has been criticized heavily. My biggest gripe with it is that even a supposedly local game in custom match mode, where I’m the only player, is still running through the internet: if my connection is shaky, my character will lag. We played with friends in split-screen through Wi-Fi in a custom game with bots, and it was unplayable. This can be a serious gripe for those looking for offline fun: you cannot play this game without a stable internet connection, not even custom games, where you cannot complete weekly quests (though you earn XP).
